Charge Net, beer-fuel pick up awards

The 2016 EECA Awards, recognising energy saving and renewable energy innovations, gave the nod to a pair of vehicle-related products overnight.

Privately-funded fast charger infrastructure specialist Charge Net was recognised for its ever-growing network, winning the Z Energy Transport category.

The team at Charge Net NZ were over the moon to have been recognised.

“Rolling out the fast charging network and working on a portable solution that focuses on great customer experience is work that has brought us in contact with some of the best and brightest here in New Zealand and around the world,” chief executive Steve West told EVtalk.

“We feel that Green Tech is as exciting and world-changing today as the Internet was in the 1990’s, and we know that the only way New Zealand will put itself on the map in this sector is through innovation, and that innovation will only continue to thrive with collaboration and support from the greater EV community here and around the world.”

West is keen to acknowledge their fellow nominee Northpower.

“We all enjoy working with our many partners and supporters, and were are especially grateful to our fellow finalists Northpower, who have been working with us every step of the way for many years now.”

Also given grand praise at the awards was Brewtroleum – Gull and DB Breweries’ joint-effort bioethanol fuel made from beer – winning a Highly Commended from judges,
