Battery supplier moves into Adelaide
Global battery and solar supplier Sonnen is moving it’s base from Sydney to Adelaide.
The German company will at the same time establish a manufacturing hub in the state, and is already the largest producer of household battery and energy storage.
Sonnen will also now use its new home as its primary shipping destination for Australia, Asia and South Pacific.
A technical training center will also be setup, including Australian, New Zealand and Asia Pacific markets, Manufacturing Monthly reports.
Australia/New Zealand managing director Chris Parratt says South Australia has the right reputation for such innovative businesses.
“We are very excited by the prospect of manufacturing in South Australia for the Australian export markets, and realising our expectation that Australia will become the world’s number one market for energy storage systems,” he says.
It’s the latest announcement as part of the state’s 150 million Renewable Technology Fund.
