Audi aims to sell “800,000 electrified cars in 2025”, most of them fully electric.

It expects these will be between “more than 20 different electric vehicle models”.

Audi AG management board chairman Rupert Stadler says it wants to be the top premium vehicle manufacturer and will be lifting electric mobility to the next level.

It will start with the production version of the Audi e-tron quattro prototype, Electrek reports.

Audi will reveal the production version of its e-tron electric SUV at the second annual Audi Summit on August 30 in Brussels.

“The Audi e-tron Sportback will be the second fully electric car to be launched, followed by the Audi e-tron GT from Audi Sport in 2020,” Stadler says. “Audi will also offer an electric model in the premium compact segment in 2020.”

Audi AG management board technical development member Peter Mertens announced plans to bring to production a vehicle based on the Audi Aicon prototype to create an autonomous ride-hailing service. A concept car revealed last year claimed a 700-800km range along with self-driving ability.

Mertens says it will be presented in 2021.
