Barnes backs EVs
Australian musician Jimmy Barnes is set to make electric vehicles his Driving Wheels after trying a Tesla while on an overseas holiday.
Barnes says it’s convinced him to switch to electric.
Despite the turmoil in Australian politics around EVs, Barnes is a fan of electric drive, describing the Tesla on Twitter as safe, quiet and “super fast” with long range (440km).
He says the Tesla cost nothing for him to drive and was charged up using home solar panels, illustrating the fact with photos on Twitter.
“This car costs us zero $ to drive. It’s safe, quiet, looks great and is super fast. I love it and can’t wait to switch our petrol and diesel cars over. It feels so good to do ur bit to get off the grid,” Barnes tweeted.
Barnes’ new album My Criminal Record is due to be released in May and he’s planning to tour Europe in July.
