Community Bike Fund applications close August 15

E-Bike-Expo-2019-8-small-2

Auckland Transport’s $50,000 Community Bike Fund gives groups funding of between $300 and $5000 which they can then use to promote cycling within their wider community.

Recipients have organised cycling events, guided bike rides, and a reward system providing market vouchers to those who arrived at a weekly market by bike – along with Bikestock, a festival on Auckland’s North Shore for bikes which included e-bike retailers and e-bike rides.

Through the fund, AT wants to support groups which can encourage cycling within their community through their projects, events and activities, whether the group has a cycling focus or not.

The grant outcomes should include encouraging and supporting people new to riding a bike (or e-bike), to further normalise cycling as a viable mode of transport, support initiatives that showcase cycleways and shared paths, safety, and more.

All projects funded in this round must be completed by June 30, 2022.

The AT fund is open until 10pm Sunday, August 15, 2021, and applicants can email cyclingevents@at.govt.nz for extra support.
