Temsa unveils electric coach
Turkey-based global bus manufacturer Temsa has revealed its new electric vehicle model LD SB E at the IAA Transportation commercial vehicle show in Hannover, September 20-25.
Temsa aims to increase its EV production share to 50% in three years.
Operating under the partnership of the Sabancı Holding and the PPF Group (Skoda Transportation) for the past two years, Temsa has five different EV models ready for mass production.
Recently, Temsa launched the TS 45E model tailor-made for the US market after two years of testing in Silicon Valley.
The company says the LD SB E is one of the most popular vehicles of the IAA Transportation exhibition, visited by more than 1200 companies and thousands of exhibitors from 40 countries.
Sustainability and digitalisation are the two main decisive trends in the automotive industry, says Temsa chief executive Tolga Kaan Doğancıoğlu.
He says Temsa is proud to unveil Europe’s first electric coach as a European company.
“We aim to make one of every two vehicles out of our production facility electric in 2025.”
The LD SB E has up to 350km range, has a 250kW motor with 210kW, 280kW and 350kW battery options, can carry 63 passengers, and is available in 12 metre or 13 metre options.
The electric bus has a full digital instrument panel so all driving-related information can be easily followed.
Temsa chief sales and marketing officer Hakan Koralp says it has produced more than 130,000 vehicles since 1968 and has many bus and midibus models on the roads in nearly 70 countries.
