Big Street Bikers flicks the Big Switch on e-mobility
Transport minister Michael Wood arrived by public transport to help launch Big Street Bikers’ Big Switch event at its Karangahape Road premises in Auckland.
Big Street Bikers (BSB) board chair and Auckland bike lane champion Sir Bob Harvey addressed guests and was among those pushing the Big Switch lever.

“For us the Big Switch was literal and figurative,” says BSB.
“We loved seeing everyone have fun pulling the lever from congested, carbon filled, dangerous streets to safer, less polluted streets that allow people the choice to ride or walk.”
The switch is from streets made for cars to streets made for people, BSB explains.
Kristjan Lind, chief executive of Bikeep the Estonia creators of BSB’s Locky Dock lock, dock, e-mobility charging and parking systems, explained that cities around the world are working hard to change the conditions for better health for their citizens. He urged New Zealand to keep going.
BSB recently featured in EVs and Beyond for its Locky Dock expansion.
