Mercedes EQE now on sale
The next electric Mercedes-Benz, the EQE, retails from $132,100.
The sporty business saloon is available three models, the manufacturer’s recommended list price (MRLP) for the EQE 300 from $132,100, with the EQE 350 4Matic MRLP $145,000 and the Mercedes-AMG EQE 53 4Matic+ $195,000.
The entry level EQE 300 has an 89kWh battery producing 180kW of power and 550Nm torque, an estimated 626km range (NEDC) and accelerates from zero to 100km/h in 7.3 seconds.
Driven by dual electric motors, the EQE 350 4Matic has 215kW power and 765Nm torque, an estimated 590km range (NEDC) and accelerates from zero to 100km/h in 6.3 seconds.
The Mercedes-AMG EQE 53 4Matic+ also has dual e-motors, produces 460kW power and 950Nm torque, 500km range (NEDC) and reaches 100km/h in 3.5 seconds.
The EQE has a 0.22 drag coefficient, second only to the EQS (0.20 Cd) and is manufactured using resource-saving materials such as secondary steel and developed with regard to the environmental impact of the entire value chain.
The Bremen plant where the EQE is produced has been converted to climate-neutral production and takes its electricity just from renewable sources. The production of battery systems for the EQS and EQE at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Hedelfingen is also CO2-neutral.
The EQE has a spacious interior which comfortably accommodates up to five people, the latest MBUX multimedia system, a Burmester 3D surround sound system, smartphone integration, and wireless charging.
A comprehensive safety and security package includes 10 airbags and various driving assistance features.
It has a slightly shorter wheelbase than the EQS, with shorter overhangs and more recessed flanks.
Mercedes aims to make its fleet of new passenger cars CO2-neutral over the vehicles’ entire life cycle by 2039.
The AMG includes electrically adjustable and heated front seats, and a panoramic sliding sunroof is standard.
The EQE range has a Type 2 CCS plug, a five-metre charging cable for wallbox and public charging stations, and a charging cable for domestic power sockets.
All EQE models can be connected to Mercedes-Me Connect, enabling a number of remote functions from a linked device.
The EQE range is covered by a Mercedes Benz five-year unlimited kilometre warranty, which includes free repair or replacement of manufacturing defects in material or workmanship.
It also includes a battery certificate for high-voltage batteries that applies for 10 years or up to 250,000km.
