BYD Atto 3 a winner
The BYD Atto 3 has become New Zealand’s most awarded EV for 2022, winning six NZ automotive awards since launching in June last year.
These include the prestigious New Zealand Car of the Year by the New Zealand Motoring Writers’ Guild.
“BYD Auto New Zealand is incredibly proud to receive these notable awards for 2022,” says BYD national brand manager Warren Willmot,
“Our customers have taken a leap of faith with a new brand in New Zealand which a lot of people would not have heard of eight months ago.
“These awards cement our customers’ purchasing decisions and gives reassurance that their decision was in line with expert opinions in New Zealand and globally,” Willmot adds.
“Every BYD Atto 3 on the road potentially replaces an internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle, which moves us towards a greener future and BYD’s ultimate global goal of cooling the Earth by one degree.”
BYD has now been placed as a supplier on the All of Government motor vehicle fleet list.
The Atto 3 has also gained a host of notable awards from around the globe, with BYD Co. Ltd founder, chairman and president Wang Chuanfu named a top finalist for World Car Person of the Year 2023.
Last year, BYD became the world’s bestselling plug-in EV brand, selling a record 1.8 million units, a global growth increase of 208.64% on 2021.
The Atto 3 also got an Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) five-star safety rating
