Royal treatment for Fonterra’s new electric truck
Volvo Trucks NZ had the opportunity to share news about its recently launched electric truck to Sweden’s Crown Princess Victoria and her husband Prince Daniel during a special visit.

The Swedish royals were in the country to promote trade relationships and were accompanied by Swedish ambassador Pontus Melander and Swedish international development co-operation and foreign trade minister Johan Forssell.
Volvo Trucks NZ general manager Rob Woods and Sime Darby NZ commercial sales general manager Michael Doeg got to meet the royal couple during a visit to the site of Tetra Pak’s recycling partner, saveBOARD, in Te Rapa.
The light duty electric truck, manufactured by the Swedish global truck brand, is currently being put through its paces in Fonterra livery, delivering products to FMCG customers in the Auckland area.
It was great sustainability story to complement the Swedish royals’ tour of the saveBOARD site which contributes to a strong circular economy by converting used beverage cartons into low carbon building materials.
