NZ reservations open for Cupra Born EV

Cupra New Zealand has announced pre-orders are open on its website for its all-electric Born EV with delivery anticipated between September and November 2023.

The Born offers 77kWh battery, 170kW electric motor and 511 km of range under the WLTP protocol. 

It is priced from $79,990 and therefore qualifies for the Clean Car Rebate of $8,625.

EVs and Beyond has noted, however, that the New Zealand retail price of the Cupra Born is the same as its larger group sibling the Volkswagen I.D.4 SUV which offers the same battery and electric motor. 

In Australia the Born EV is priced at the equivalent of NZD $64,500.
