Electric 4X4 to be launched by INEOS 2026
INEOS Automotive’s new battery electric 4X4 will be developed in conjunction with automotive supplier Magna, and will be built at its Graz, Austria facility.
The zero-emission vehicle will be smaller than the INEOS Grenadier, with world class off-road performance that will be tested on Schöckl mountain close to Magna’s Austrian headquarters.
No other details are given by INEOS at this stage about the new 4X4.
“This is an exciting moment for INEOS Automotive,” says its chief executive Lynn Calder, adding the Grenadier will be used as a springboard for the third model line, production due to start in Graz in 2026.
“Our all new electric 4X4 will be zero emission while offering customers exceptional off-road capability, without compromising on-road comfort or performance.”
INEOS Automotive confirmed its zero-emission model line in May last year and it has worked with Magna previously on series engineering and development for the Grenadier station wagon and pick-up models.
Magna is one of the world’s largest automotive suppliers and independent contract manufacturers, produicing a number of different models for various automakers covering conventional internal combustion engine (ICE), hybrid and EVs at its Graz vehicle assembly plant.
INEOS is a short version of its previous name “INspec Ethylene Oxide and Specialities”.
