Fuell’s new e-bikes have high range

After selling more than 4000 Fuell Flluid-1 electric bikes globally, Erik Buell’s e-mobility company has announced details of its new e-bikes – Flluid-2 and Flluid-3.

The new e-bikes, available only on the Fuell Indiegogo page, can be shipped worldwide and have removeable battery packs (the Flluid-22 have two batteries for a reported 350km range and the step-through Flluid-3 having one for 180km range).

They also have what is claimed to be the world’s first e-bike predictive transmission, the “Valeo Cyclee Mid Drive Unit” featuring seven-speeds.

Fuell says the Class 3/S Pedelec versions of the two e-bikes can unlock software to provide more power and speed, warning that registration, helmets and insurance may be required in some places.

As an example, the top speed is 32km/h with the S version taking that to 45km/h.

The e-bikes can be recharged to 80% within four hours or 100% in six hours – the times shortened to two hours and three hours respectively with an 8A charger accessory.

The first Flluid-2 and Flluid-3 units will be sold for NZ$6714 and NZ$6230 respectively, with shipping estimated in July.

The company also produces the Fuell Fllow e-commuter.
