Video: Electric Volvo EX30 unveiled
The Volvo EX30 small SUV has been launched globally in two variations with more to come.
The fourth Volvo EV is designed for the masses, CleanTechnica reports.
The five-seater in single motor rear-wheel drive and dual motor all-wheel drive has a 64kWh battery.
Range is estimated at about 344km “combined cycle” to 474km “city” driving for the standard range and 479km “combined cycle” to 661km “city” for the extended range.
Reports suggest power and torque range from about 200kW to 314.7kW power and 343Nm to 543Nm torque.
Commenting on the EX30’s low price, Volvo chief executive Jim Rowan says price and cost of ownership are among the biggest hurdles for people considering switching to an EV.
“With the Volvo EX30, we aim to bring premium, fully electric mobility to a much broader audience, helping to advance and speed up the transition to full electrification that our industry and society needs.”
More details are expected shortly from Volvo New Zealand and Volvo Australia.
