What are Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) in 2023?

That’s the theme of an ITS event (in-person and online) on July 18 at the Beca Auditorium, 21 Pitt Street, Auckland, 5pm-7pm.

ITSNZ says the event is a “fun and informative” evening which includes speakers such as Ohmio Automotion’s Dr Mahmood Hikmet, an authority on autonomous transport.

“The rapid pace of technology development means that the term “Intelligent Transportation Systems” has evolved and has become a catch-all for transport technologies, tech-enabled solutions and business models they enable,” ITSNZ adds.

“Our speakers will share their perspectives and we’ll also explore what is considered ITS globally with a quick review of the ITS America Conference.”

ITSNZ is also running “Tech-enabled Mobility with Carol Schweiger” events in Auckland on August 22 and Wellington on August 24.

The Schweiger Consulting president “has wide-ranging and in-depth expertise in several specialty areas, including technology strategies for public agencies, public transport technology, traveller information strategies and systems, and systems engineering”, says ITSNZ.

T-Tech23 registrations are expected to open shortly for the ITSNZ annual summit and exhibition in Wellington on September 26 and 27.
