Porsche New Zealand is rolling out a destination charging network here, free for Porsche customers to use.

The first batch has been installed at QT Hotels and Rydges Formosa Golf Resort Auckland and are available now for Porsche customers who are guests of the hotel or Formosa members to use free of charge.

The QT Auckland has four 11kW AC chargers and the Rydges Formosa Golf Resort Auckland has two higher-powered 22kW AC chargers, while Porsche New Zealand intends expanding the charging network to other locations.

In addition to the AC destination charging network, all four Porsche Centres in New Zealand are equipped with high-powered DC chargers available for customer use, including the ultra-rapid 175kW charger installed at Giltrap Porsche and Archibalds Porsche in Christchurch.

“It is exciting to launch the first batch of destination charging locations across the country, and we look forward to seeing the network grow.,” says Porsche New Zealand general manager Greg Clarke.

“We know our customers are busy people, so we are focusing on selecting destinations where people spend an extended period of time. Destination charging offers our customers an opportunity re-charge their electric vehicle in a fast and convenient way.”

Porsche is investing in establishing a global charging network.

The Porsche Destination Charging network includes 4200 charging points in more than 75 countries, with in excess of 7500 chargers planned worldwide by 2025.

The charging points will be at selected hotels, airports, museums, shopping malls, sports clubs, and marinas.
