BMW NZ’s new i4 variant in Q4
The BMW i4 eDrive35 due for delivery in Q4 this year adds to a successful i4 line-up alongside the eDrive40 and 400kW dual motor M50.
The new EV is priced from $98,900 (recommended retail pricing includes GST but excludes on-road costs) and comes with a comprehensive array of standard specifications.
Its single rear-mounted electric motor produces 210kW power and 400Nm torque, the 66kWh (net) battery able to reach 490km range (WLTP) and do the zero to 100km/h sprint in six seconds
Charging capability is up to 11kW on AC or 180kW on DC.
The launch of the new i4 eDrive35 represents a new entry point to the i4 line-up, says BMW New Zealand.
This year has already seen arrival of the 225e xDrive plug-in hybrid, 750e xDrive and XM and fully electric i7, while the first i5 M60 xDrive is set to arrive in the country later this year.
The new BMW i4 eDrive35 is fitted with proven fifth-generation BMW eDrive technology that also features in its i4 stablemates as well as a number of other BMW fully electric models such as the iX and i7 flagship sedan.
It ensures an engaging electric driving experience combined with maximum everyday usability courtesy of a long range and short charging times. In addition, this technology is committed to sustainability, including the complete removal of rare earths from production of the electric motors.
The high-voltage BMW i4 battery has an eight-year warranty, combined with up to 160,00km.
Customers can charge their i4 via multiple options, including ChargeNow – a BMW service operated by ChargeNet
A free ChargeNow membership and card is provided to all owners of BMW fully electric vehicles, with a 10% discount offered on all charging sessions used in the ChargeNow network for the first 24 months.
BMW New Zealand is also in partnership with EV charge point operator JOLT to assist in the rollout of a free fast charging options across New Zealand.
In addition, a complimentary Generation 3 BMW Wallbox is supplied with the purchase of every new fully electric BMW model in New Zealand.
Among highlights of the new electric powertrain are compact drive units that have an elastic bearing in their respective axle subframes. s
Acoustic glazing, pre-heating and pre-conditioning come as standard, as do sport seats and a sports steering wheel.
The transmission selector lever, BMW Controller and function keys are positioned on a control panel in the centre console.
The large tailgate has an automatic opening and closing mechanism as standard. Load compartment capacity ranges between 470 and 1290 litres.
Other features include an 11kW public charging cable, 18-inch light-alloy wheels double-spoke style 853 Bicolour, active cruise control with “Stop&Go”, BMW Iconic Sounds Electric, BMW Live Cockpit Professional, Connected Package Professional, driving and parking assistant, front seat heating, and more.
A range of colours can apply with Black and Alpine White both no cost options.
