Nissan sells a million EVs globally

Nissan Motor Company says it has passed one million units of EV sales world-wide.

Since launching in December 2010, the Nissan Leaf has sold more than 650,000 units globally and is available in 50 markets.

Last year, Nissan began selling the Nissan Ariya electric crossover and the Sakura – its first EV in the Japanese mini vehicle market, receiving orders of 50,000 units.

Under its Nissan Ambition 2030 long-term vision, the brand plans to launch 19 EV models by fiscal year 2030.

The company also aims to launch EVs powered by solid-state batteries developed in-house by fiscal year 2028 and to expand its EV lineup to meet the diverse needs of global customers.

Nissan’s EV sales are: Japan 230,000, North America 210,000, Europe 320,000, China 230,000 and other regions (including Asia-Pacific) 10,000 (as of June 30, 2023).
