AVs, robotaxis and sensors studied
Peak car sales, commercial robotaxi service deployments, ADAS features and adoption, emergence of certified SAE level 3 vehicles, Mobility as a Service (MaaS), lidar, radar, cameras, thermal imaging, HD map, 5G and vehicle-to-everything (V2X), along with market forecasts are all included in IDTechEx’s latest report Autonomous Cars, Robotaxis and Sensors 2024-2044.
Emerging SAE level 3 cars and autonomous MaaS drive a 10-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 13% in automotive sensor markets.
Barriers to autonomous vehicles (AVs) are finally falling, says IDTechEx.
“Private SAE level 3 vehicles are now available to the public and multiple commercial robotaxi services have been launched.
‘Find out where level 3 vehicles can be used, which cities have robotaxi services, what sensors (cameras, radar and lidar) these vehicles need, and how robotaxi services will generate more thanUS$1 trillion in annual revenue in 20 years’ time.”
The IDTechEx report also covers regulations pertaining to privately owned AVs, plus it looks at analysis of deployment of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) features and autonomous levels in different regions (US, China, EU, UK, and European Free Trade Association countries such as Norway and Switzerland).
Car unit sales by region are studied, including peak car sales, and likely sensor requirements.
