EVs help power charity fireworks event

Two EVs with vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability helped power the Tomarata School’s successful fundraising fireworks event north of Auckland on November 11.

EVs and Beyond managing editor Richard Edwards provided a BYD Atto 3 and MG 4.

He wants to see more EVs at next year’s event to power the whole thing as it removes the need for often noisy and smelly diesel generators with the EVs operating quietly and emissions free.

Edwards posted a video of the EVs at the Tomarata Domain on LinkedIn, and included a plea for Toyota New Zealand to perhaps loan a hydrogen generator for the next one,
