Kia NZ delays just-launched EV5

Kia New Zealand confirms the electric EV5 SUV has been delayed, in spite of being launched to dealers and media a fortnight ago.

It appears the EV market’s poor shape is the issue.

At the launch, Kia NZ managing director Todd McDonald indicated volume of the vehicle would not arrive until September, saying with the slow market the delay was not a negative.

It now appears they have pushed the model out further, with a dealer indicating to Auto Media Group demonstrators had returned to Kia.

Kia NZ has confirmed the delay, saying the EV5 re-launch is now likely in Q4.
