Cupra Tavascan confirmed for launch Q1, 2025
Cupra New Zealand general manager James Yates has confirmed that the flagship Tavascan EV SUV is on track to launch in market in the first quarter of 2025.
Yates says that the importer, Espana Motors Limited, is still working with the Barcelona-based brand to determine the final specification and pricing for the Cupra Tavascan.
Benefitting from an advanced homologation timeline and closer proximity to its production base, the Cupra Tavascan will be delivered to Australian customers from early December 2024, fourth months earlier than expected by the distributor.
Designed and developed in Barcelona, the Tavascan is produced at the Volkswagen Group’s Anhui factory in China.
The Tavascan will be available in 250kW VZ dual-motor all-wheel drive and 210kW Endurance RWD configurations in Australia.
Cupra Australia director Ben Wilks says the Tavascan SUV is a milestone on the brand’s battery electrification journey, which commenced with the Born hatchback in 2023.
“With its progressive and emotional approach to the SUV coupe segment, head-turning exterior lighting, a uniquely Cupra interior, and an all-new immersive sound system from Sennheiser, the Tavascan elevates the all-electric SUV coupe to new heights,” Wilks says.
