EV RUC petition presented

Philip Naniov and Leaf Christchurch

Christchurch Central MP Duncan Webb has presented Philip Naniov’s petition to reduce Road User Charges (RUC) for EVs to $35/1000km and waive administration charges to parliament where it has been referred to the petitions committee which has asked Naniov for a written submission by October 2.

Written submissions are usually published on the parliament website when they are released by the committee.

Naniov reckons about 4217 people have signed the petition.

He says all vehicles up to 3500kg have same RUC rate, according to Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency.
