Genesis to open California design studio early next year
Genesis will open a design studio in California in Q1 2025.
Celebrating 10 years next year, the brand says Genesis Design California marks a milestone in its growth.
“Genesis is a leader in automotive design,” says its chief creative officer Luc Donckerwolke.
“We take pride in always innovating and looking for inspiration in our everyday lives,” he says.
“The climate, cultural arts and automotive scene in Los Angeles offered us the possibility to create a dynamic and attractive work experience by integrating nature and light into the work and creative spaces.”
Genesis Design California in El Segundo will span 7432.2 square metres (80,000 square feet) and house 45 team members and is designed to place visitors in a meditative state of mind to promote a sense of calm and focus, says Genesis.
It will include a modern tea platform in the lobby space, inspired by the brand’s Korean heritage; a colours, materials and finishes studio, a clay modelling workshop, a digital design lab, a library, an open workspace, office and conference spaces, private areas, outdoor spaces and lounge areas inspired by traditional Korean gardens and Southern California, and an upper-level patio which can accommodate various uses such as events and dining.
With an increasing range of luxury models – including the G80, G70, GV60, GV70, and GV80 – Genesis aims to lead the age of electrification by focusing on a dual electrification strategy involving fuel-cell and battery EVs, starting with its G80 and GV60 electric models.
Genesis aims to become a 100% zero-emission vehicle brand by 2030 and to be carbon neutral by 2035.
