Porsche’s electrification strategy increased its share of total sales of electrified sports cars from 22% to 27% in 2024, and almost half were Battery-Electric Vehicles (BEVs).

Porsche renewed four model lines in 2024, including the Panamera, Taycan, 911 and the Macan, its second all-electric model.

The German manufacturer delivered 310,718 cars in 2024, some 3% fewer than the previous year, as sales growth in four of its global markets was offset by a 28% decline in China.

In New Zealand, the brand sold 210 Cayenne variants in 2024, followed by 126 Macan SUV sales, 96 examples of the 911 coupe, 27 units of the 718 model, 14 examples of the Taycan EV, and six Porsche Panamera models.

“We are immensely proud of our 2024 achievements. While we do not target specific sales numbers or growth, we aim to be a demand-driven brand, irrespective of the current economic, market, and product offering conditions. It was pleasing to see that we retailed more Porsches last year than in 2023,” Porsche New Zealand general manager Greg Clarke says.

“The fourth quarter saw the arrival of the first Macan 4 and Macan Turbo models, allowing us to finally offer customers and prospects the opportunity to test drive these stunning new vehicles. A limited number of initial customer deliveries took place before Christmas. With strong demand, we anticipate many more deliveries in the first quarter of 2025 as additional customer-specified vehicles arrive,” he says.
