Video: Afeela 1 EV in LA

Afeela 1 Sony Honda Mobility

Sony Honda Mobility’s (SHM) EV Afeela 1 is at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles until Saturday, March 1 so people can get a close look at it during the lead-up to the Oscars on Sunday, March 2, 2025.

Afeela1 is displayed on the Piazza offering interactive demonstrations featuring Oscar nominee films and scores. Attendees can explore its interactive experiences and see the near-production model up close.

SHM representatives are there to answer questions about the Afeela 1 and its technological innovations.

It has advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), features an interactive personal agent for seamless communication with the vehicle and a sound system with optimally placed displays for each seat, says SHM.

The Afeela 1 has a 483km estimated EPA range from its 91kWh battery pack and has been at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas during the past few years, is offered in two trims (Origin and Signature), can tap into Tesla superchargers, and is expected to start production mid-2026.

New Zealand Autocar featured the Afeela 1 in January 2025.

“Oscar Nominee Spotlights 2025” is a series of events celebrating this year’s Oscar-nominated filmmakers with visitors able to attend screenings of nominated short films and participate in panels with select nominated feature filmmakers.

Tickets are required for each event, and seating in the David Geffen Theatre is on a first-come, first-served basis, says SHM.

The first Afeela Studio has opened at Westfield Century City in Los Angeles with further studios and delivery hubs expected to open in Torrance and Fremont in California later this year.

The mobility tech company SHM was established in 2022 by Sony Group Corporation and Honda Motor Co.
