Leapmotor B10 electric SUV confirmed for New Zealand launch in late 2025

Leapmotor will expand its local EV line-up later this year, with confirmation the all-new B10 medium SUV is set to arrive in New Zealand during the second half of 2025.
Distributed by Armstrong’s Automotive Group, the B10 joins the C10 BEV and Ultra Hybrid REEV already on sale. It’s the first model built on the brand’s new LEAP 3.5 platform and is also the first Leapmotor model designed specifically for international markets, following its global debut at the Paris Motor Show.
The B10 brings a strong focus on value, with features such as Apple CarPlay, a fully digital cockpit, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) all included as standard. The vehicle targets tech-savvy and eco-conscious buyers looking for a practical, modern EV without the premium price tag.
Under the skin, the B10 leverages Leapmotor’s LEAP 3.5 architecture, which supports both BEV and range-extender powertrains. While New Zealand specs are yet to be confirmed, overseas markets offer two lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery options: a 56.2 kWh pack delivering up to 510 km CLTC (approximately 420 km WLTP), and a larger 67.1 kWh option providing a claimed 600 km CLTC (~490 km WLTP). The smaller pack is paired with a 132 kW motor in entry trims, while the larger battery comes with a 160 kW motor. Both versions support DC fast charging (30–80%) in under 20 minutes. Leapmotor’s in-house developed Cell-to-Chassis battery and “Four-Domain-in-One” architecture allow for improved safety, packaging, and seamless integration between core systems.

Simon Rutherford, CEO of Auto Distributors New Zealand, says the B10’s arrival is well timed.
“The B10 is perfectly aligned with what New Zealand drivers are increasingly looking for—electric, practical, high-tech vehicles with standout design and smart features, all at an accessible price point.”
Leapmotor says the SUV is aimed squarely at mainstream global markets, positioning it as a volume contender in the growing midsize EV segment. It also represents a step up in quality and refinement from earlier Leapmotor offerings, which have focused more on the value end of the market.
Local support for the brand is growing. Leapmotor dealerships are already established in Auckland (Greenlane and Botany), Wellington and Christchurch, with more expected to follow.
The upcoming launch benefits from the global backing of Stellantis, which formed a joint venture with Leapmotor in 2024 to accelerate the brand’s international growth. Stellantis is also a shareholder in the Chinese EV maker and supports the brand’s after-sales and service network in key markets.
Additional Leapmotor models are expected to follow in 2026.
