Volkswagen’s all-electric 2025 ID. Buzz has been named the top minivan in the 2025 J.D. Power U.S. Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study.

The vehicle was recognised for its design and powertrain performance, contributing to Volkswagen achieving its highest brand score since the study was redesigned in 2020.

The APEAL Study assesses owners’ emotional attachment and satisfaction across 10 experience areas, drawing on responses from more than 84,000 owners of 2025 model-year vehicles.

With an APEAL Index score of 882, the ID. Buzz exceeded the segment average, earning the highest Powertrain Index score in the Mass Market category.

Volkswagen ranked sixth among mass market brands with a brand score of 845, five points above the segment average. The brand recorded improvements in fuel economy (+36 points) and infotainment (+9 points). The Jetta also contributed to the overall result, improving by six points and representing about 20% of Volkswagen’s sales.

The ID. Buzz features retro styling with a large VW logo, two-tone exterior options, and a choice of three interior colour themes: Moonlight, Dune, and Copper. Standard equipment includes a 12.9-inch infotainment display, 30-colour ambient lighting, IQ.DRIVE driver assistance, and Park Assist Plus with Memory Parking.

The Pro S Plus and 1st Edition trims add Easy Open sliding doors and tailgate, Harman Kardon premium audio, and an electrochromic panoramic glass roof. Seating is available for up to seven passengers with both bench and captain’s chair options. Pricing starts at US$59,995.

J.D. Power Automotive Division president Doug Betts presented the award to Volkswagen AG in Washington, D.C., on August 12.
