Polestar has launched a tailored version of the popular location-guessing game GeoGuessr that can be played directly in all Polestar vehicles through the in-car browser system.

The GeoGuessr Polestar edition features Europe’s best driving roads and incorporates the Polestar 4’s digital rear-view mirror technology, showing the world in reverse at the top of the game screen. The geolocation-based game challenges players to identify real-world locations using visual clues.

“GeoGuessr and Polestar both celebrate exploration,” says Polestar chief executive Michael Lohscheller. “With Polestar 4’s rear-view mirror built directly into the game, we’ve created a playful link between our technology and one of the world’s most loved digital adventures. It’s the perfect entertainment offer when you are charging your Polestar.”

The Swedish electric vehicle manufacturer has positioned the game as entertainment for drivers during charging sessions, alongside the brand’s growing lineup of digital experiences.

GeoGuessr chief executive and co-founder Daniel Antell says the partnership reflects both companies’ focus on exploration and navigation. “Every driver is using maps, GeoGuessr is turning navigation into a way to explore the world and have fun,” he says. “That is why teaming up with Polestar feels very natural. It is also great to work with a fellow Swedish global brand.”

Competition launches alongside world championship

To mark the launch, Polestar and GeoGuessr are running a Europe-wide competition coinciding with the 2025 GeoGuessr World Championship Finals in Copenhagen. The winner will receive a trip to Polestar’s headquarters in Gothenburg, including a test track day with a professional racing driver.

The game is available on mobile devices, desktop computers, and through the in-car browser in all Polestar models.

Last month, it was announced that Polestar in New Zealand would come under the NordEast Distributors banner and would be situated alongside Volvo in showrooms, meaning local Polestar owners will have access to the new gaming feature through their vehicle’s infotainment system.
