Hyundai has confirmed UK pricing and full specifications for the new IONIQ 6 N, its latest high-performance electric vehicle, with order books now open ahead of first deliveries later this year.

The IONIQ 6 N will be priced from £65,800 (NZ$150k) in the UK, positioning it as a flagship performance EV alongside the IONIQ 5 N.

Based on Hyundai’s E-GMP electric platform, the IONIQ 6 N builds on the technology introduced with the IONIQ 5 N but adopts a more aerodynamic sedan-style body aimed at delivering sharper on-road performance and improved high-speed efficiency.

Hyundai says the model has been engineered around its N performance philosophy, focusing on cornering capability, track performance and everyday usability. Key mechanical upgrades include revised suspension geometry, stroke-sensing electronically controlled dampers and a lowered roll centre designed to improve grip and stability.

An electronic limited-slip differential is fitted as standard, actively managing torque delivery to improve traction, while changes to axle stiffness, steering calibration and mounting systems are intended to enhance precision while reducing vibration during normal driving.

Power comes from a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup producing up to 650PS and 770Nm of torque when N Grin Boost is engaged. Hyundai claims the IONIQ 6 N can accelerate from 0–100km/h in around 3.2 seconds using launch control, with a top speed of 257km/h.

It’s powered by an 84kWh lithium-ion battery, paired with high-output electric motors delivering up to 535kW. Hyundai says the setup provides a maximum potential driving range of up to 487km, depending on configuration and driving conditions.

The IONIQ 6 N also features updated versions of Hyundai’s N e-Shift and N Active Sound+ systems, designed to replicate the feel and sound of conventional performance vehicles, with drivers able to customise settings via dedicated steering-wheel controls.

Externally, the model is distinguished by 20-inch alloy wheels, widened wheel arches and a large rear wing, all contributing to improved aerodynamic stability at speed.

Inside, the cabin features N-specific bucket seats trimmed in Alcantara and leather, metal pedals and additional knee support for high-performance driving.

In the UK, the IONIQ 6 N will be offered in a single specification, with optional paint finishes priced between £750 and £1,250 and an optional Vision Roof at £1,250.

Hyundai UK president Ashley Andrew says the new model builds on the success of the IONIQ 5 N, which has found strong demand among performance-focused EV buyers.

“The IONIQ 6 N delivers even more to the enthusiast driver, combining the high-performance foundations of the IONIQ 5 N with a different suspension character and a more aerodynamic shape,” Andrew says.
