Video review: Zeekr 7X Performance

The Zeekr 7X has landed in New Zealand, and while the 475kW power output and 3.8-second sprint time are grabbing headlines, the real story might just be what happens when you plug it in.

In our latest EVs & Beyond video review, we put the flagship Performance AWD model through its paces to see if it lives up to the hype. The result? A charging curve that flattens the competition.

Testing on a ChargeNet Hypercharger, we witnessed the 7X pull a sustained 295kW right out of the gate, adding over 400km of range in a blistering 21-minute session (10-90%). While the official brochure quotes a peak of roughly 420kW for the 100kWh battery, the real-world consistency suggests this SUV is ready for infrastructure New Zealand doesn’t even have yet.

For drivers doing serious mileage, whether commuting between cities or towing the boat to the bach, this level of performance offers genuine future-proofing.

Priced at $94,990 for the top-spec Performance model (and starting from $69,990 for the RWD), the 7X brings serious luxury to the segment, packing features like a 44L frunk, 2,000kg towing capacity, and an air suspension system that lifts 40mm for the rough stuff.
