Skoda adds gaming, video streaming and Spotify to electric models
Skoda has added in-car gaming, video streaming and native Spotify integration to the infotainment systems of its all-electric Enyaq and Elroq models.
The update applies to Enyaq vehicles running software version 4.0 and higher, as well as the new Elroq. The new features — AirConsole, Skoda Play and built-in Spotify — are included in the Media Streaming Package, which is free for the first three years in new vehicles.
The Swiss-developed AirConsole platform launches with 15 games, including a Skoda-exclusive version of Tetris. When the vehicle is parked, the infotainment screen becomes the gaming display, with a smartphone used as the controller. Both single-player and multi-player modes are supported. An internet connection and active Skoda ID and MySkoda account are required, and gaming is available only when the vehicle is stationary.
Skoda Play introduces a video service offering news and educational content from authorised partners including Euronews, NASA+, CNN, Reuters and Bloomberg. Video playback is also restricted to when the vehicle is parked.
Spotify is now integrated directly into the infotainment system, allowing drivers and passengers to log into their existing accounts and stream music and podcasts using the vehicle’s data connection, without the need to pair a smartphone. The media-streaming applications are pre-installed.
Beyond entertainment, Skoda has also updated its Traffication application to include an Emergency Vehicle Approaching alert. Developed in partnership with HAAS Alert and its Safety Cloud platform, the system provides real-time notifications when emergency vehicles with activated warning lights are nearby, displaying distance and direction of travel and guiding drivers on how to form an emergency corridor.
The cloud-based safety feature is active in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, with further regions to follow.
Skoda has also enhanced its MySkoda app with improved AI-supported route planning for electric vehicles. Users can now specify preferred charging stop locations, limit charging to Powerpass stations, or set a minimum battery level on arrival, offering greater flexibility for longer trips.
