Mercedes-Benz has unveiled an updated EQS, introducing a new electric architecture and extended driving range of up to 926km (WLTP).

The revised EQS 450+ delivers a 13% increase in range compared with the previous model, supported by larger batteries with improved cell chemistry, new in-house electric drive units and an 800-volt system.

Fast-charging capability has also been enhanced, with outputs of up to 350kW enabling around 320km of range to be added in 10 minutes.

The update includes the introduction of the Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS), a new platform that integrates vehicle functions and enables over-the-air updates via the brand’s Intelligent Cloud.

Mercedes-Benz says the system supports a more advanced MBUX user experience, including a virtual assistant with improved voice interaction.

The EQS also gains steer-by-wire technology, removing the mechanical link between the steering wheel and front axle, while an updated AIRMATIC suspension system with predictive damping aims to improve ride comfort by adjusting to road conditions in advance.

Other changes include updated DIGITAL LIGHT headlights and minor exterior revisions, while the Hyperscreen display remains a central feature of the cabin.

A new entry-level EQS 400 has been added to the range, producing 270kW and featuring a 112kWh battery. Higher-spec variants benefit from increased battery capacity and improved drivetrain efficiency.Vehicle-to-grid capability has also been introduced as part of the update.
