Mercedes reveals all-electric C-Class interior
Mercedes-Benz will unveil its first all-electric C-Class on 20 April 2026, with the German manufacturer positioning the model’s interior as a “crafted sanctuary” that sets new benchmarks for space, quality and comfort in the segment.
The announcement, made ahead of the world premiere in South Korea, focuses heavily on interior design and luxury features rather than powertrain specifications. Mercedes-Benz says the electric C-Class offers more interior space than previous generations thanks to its purpose-built electric architecture.
“With the all-new electric C‑Class, we’ve raised everything customers love about this model to the next level. The result is a new benchmark for quality, craftsmanship and comfort. It is the most spacious and most intelligent C-Class ever,” says Ola Källenius, Chairman of the Board of Management, Mercedes-Benz Group AG.
Vegan certification and premium materials
The electric C-Class becomes the world’s second car to offer a vegan-certified interior, following the GLC model. The certification comes from independent organisation The Vegan Society and covers all soft-touch materials including seat upholstery, headliner, pillars, door panels and carpeting.
Standard equipment includes new “Softtorino” leather grain, while premium options feature “Twisted Diamond” design Nappa leather with diamond perforation and contrasting stitching. The colour palette comprises three standard shades: deep black, warm beech brown and stylish ivory beige.
Trim options range from natural fibre honeycomb design to fine-line birch wood and AMG carbon fibre. Metallic elements including air vents and speaker grilles feature what Mercedes-Benz describes as a “distinctive technoid aesthetic.”

Technology and wellness features
The interior centres around either the MBUX Hyperscreen or MBUX Superscreen, with the pillar-to-pillar Hyperscreen using matrix backlight technology with almost ten million pixels. Ten ambient lighting styles coordinate with the display themes to create what the company calls a “cocooning atmosphere.”
Optional ambient lighting extends across the instrument panel, centre console, doors and panoramic roof, with 162 illuminated stars in the roof creating a personalised starry sky effect.
New high-end seats include electro-pneumatic lumbar support, massage functions, seat ventilation and what Mercedes-Benz terms “4D sound.” The ENERGIZING COMFORT wellness system combines sounds, massage and lighting for what the company describes as mental and physical recovery during travel.
Climate and acoustic improvements
Mercedes-Benz says the electric C-Class heats up twice as fast as combustion-powered models, reaching comfortable temperatures within 20 minutes at minus seven degrees Celsius. The multi-source heat pump, fitted as standard, uses roughly half the energy of conventional systems.
Acoustic comfort measures include extensive sound insulation, decoupling elastomer mounts between suspension and body, and noise-insulating laminated safety glass in front side windows as standard.
The world premiere will be streamed live from South Korea on 20 April 2026 at 12:30 p.m. CEST. Local availability and pricing for New Zealand have not yet been announced.
