BYD raises NZ prices for first time in three years
BYD Auto New Zealand is increasing prices across its entire model range, ending a three-year run of unchanged pricing.
All models will increase by $1,000, while the Shark 6 ute range rises by $2,000.
BYD Auto NZ general manager Warren Willmot says a combination of cost pressures has driven the move.
“This is our first price increase since 2023,” Willmot says. “Shipping costs, local logistics, exchange rates and cost of living increases for our staff have all been factored in.”
The adjustment comes as the brand continues rapid expansion in New Zealand, with six new dealership locations announced, taking the network beyond its existing 19 showrooms, and record demand recently creating shipping-related delivery delays.
