Tesla deliveries jump 25% in Q2
Tesla delivered 480,126 vehicles globally during the second quarter of 2026, a 25% increase on the same period last year, but investors sent the company’s shares sharply lower following the result.
Vehicle production rose 10.1% year on year to 451,758 units.
The automaker’s Model 3 and Model Y continued to dominate the line-up, accounting for 467,762 deliveries and 442,936 vehicles produced during the quarter. Deliveries of the two models increased 25.2% compared with Q2 2025.
Tesla’s other models, including the Model S, Model X and Cybertruck, contributed 12,364 deliveries, up 19% year on year, while production reached 8822 units.
The company also deployed 13.5GWh of energy storage products during the quarter, up 40.6% from 9.6GWh a year earlier.
“Thank you to all of our customers, employees, suppliers, shareholders and supporters who helped us achieve these results,” Tesla said.
Despite the stronger delivery numbers, Tesla’s shares fell about 7.5% in early US trading following the announcement as investors looked beyond vehicle volumes and focused on the company’s upcoming earnings report. Analysts are expected to be watching closely for updates on profit margins, pricing, demand and the sustainability of Tesla’s recent sales growth.
Tesla will release its full second-quarter financial results after the US market closes on July 22, when management is expected to provide further detail on the company’s financial performance and outlook.
