Genesis adds GV60 Magma EV to Nürburgring track taxi fleet

Genesis has expanded its Track Taxi Nordschleife programme with the addition of the all-electric GV60 Magma performance SUV, giving visitors the chance to experience the brand’s first high-performance EV on one of the world’s most demanding racing circuits.

The GV60 Magma joins the Genesis G70 sports sedan in the Track Taxi Nordschleife programme, which launched in 2024 and offers passenger rides around Germany’s 20.8km Nürburgring Nordschleife.

Genesis Motor Europe managing director Peter Kronschnabl says the addition marks the next stage of the brand’s growth in Europe.

“The launch of Track Taxi Nordschleife in 2024 was an important milestone in our brand journey,” he says.

“Introducing GV60 Magma to the programme is the next chapter in our growth strategy as we continue to invest across Europe. Now, fans and customers can experience the emotion and precision of Genesis’ exceptional all-electric performance on one of the world’s most demanding racetracks.”

Since its launch, almost 3,000 guests have taken part in the programme aboard two specially prepared G70 sedans. The pair have completed about 1,300 laps of the Nürburgring, covering more than 27,000km and using more than 180 sets of tyres.

The G70 will continue to operate alongside the new GV60 Magma, which features dual electric motors producing 478kW and 790Nm. Using Boost mode, the high-performance SUV accelerates from 0-100km/h in 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 265km/h.

To handle the demands of the Nordschleife, the GV60 Magma is fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport 5S tyres, 400mm disc brakes with monoblock calipers, regenerative braking and a torque vectoring system. An electronic limited-slip differential is designed to improve stability by actively distributing torque between the front and rear motors.

The performance SUV also features an electric Active Sound Design system to create a more engaging driving experience, while new 10-way bucket seats have been developed to provide greater support during high-performance driving.
