Zeekr to host luxury ice driving experience in Queenstown

Zeekr will hold its first electric ice driving experience in New Zealand next month, giving customers the chance to test the performance of its EV range on snow and ice at the Southern Hemisphere Proving Grounds near Queenstown.

Dubbed Zeekr on Ice, the event will feature a series of driving activities designed to showcase the vehicles’ handling in low-grip conditions.

Participants will be able to drive the Zeekr X, Zeekr 7X, Zeekr 7GT, the upcoming Zeekr 8X and the flagship Zeekr 9X.

The programme includes vehicle dynamics training on snow, slalom and grid slalom challenges, power slides and transitions, gymkhana circuits, and hot laps with professional drivers.

Two events will be held from August 13-15 and August 24-26.

Packages start at $5,500 and include the driving experience, two nights’ accommodation at Millbrook Resort and a helicopter transfer from the mountain.

A spectator package is also available from $1,500, including all activities except the driving experience.

Zeekr Australia managing director Frank Li says the event is designed to demonstrate the capability of the brand’s electric vehicles in challenging conditions.
