Tesla cuts Model Y Performance price by $5000 as production moves to China

Model Y Performance drops to $95,900 plus ORC in New Zealand as production shifts to Gigafactory Shanghai.

Tesla has cut the price of the Model Y Performance in New Zealand by $5000 as production of the model moves to Gigafactory Shanghai. It is now priced from $95,900 plus on-road costs, down from $100,900.

The change comes with the Model Year 2027 updates Tesla announced today, which are available to order now.

The Model Y Performance also gains two new options, Glacier Blue paint and a Zen Grey interior. Paint is now a paid option on the Performance, as it is on other Model Y variants.

Other Model Y variants get quicker. The Model Y Premium Long Range All-Wheel Drive now runs 0-100km/h in 4.3 seconds, and the six-seat Model Y L Premium All-Wheel Drive in 4.5 seconds.

Power Share, Tesla’s name for vehicle-to-load (V2L), is now available on all new Model Y and Model 3. Using the car’s battery and the Tesla Outlet Adapter, sold separately, owners can run devices such as space heaters, e-bikes and power tools. It is limited to new MY27 cars and cannot be retrofitted.

Tesla also launched a new entry-level Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive today, priced from $54,900 plus ORC.
