EV pioneer makes case for turbines

Expatriate Kiwi engineer Ian Wright has been a big player in the history of modern electric vehicles as a founder of Tesla, but now he is attempting to convince the market our efforts are best focussed elsewhere.

His U.S-based start up company Wrightspeed, he has tripled the efficiency of delivery and service trucks using electric propulsion – and moving into turbine range extenders.

His theory, why make vehicles that use little fuel electric. Focus on those that use the most.
