Subaru Uncharted electric SUV under evaluation for New Zealand
Subaru NZ is evaluating the Uncharted, a 252kW electric SUV with up to 522km of WLTP range. It will be on show at the Auckland EV & Tech Expo.
Subaru New Zealand is evaluating the Uncharted, a new electric SUV, for the local market. Availability, timing, specification and pricing are yet to be confirmed.
The Uncharted would join the Trailseeker, which was launched to media here this week and whose first allocation has already sold out. We drove both Trailseeker variants at the launch, and you can read our first drive here.
Overseas specifications list dual motors with a combined 252kW and all-wheel drive on the e-Subaru Global Platform. A 74.7kWh CATL battery gives a targeted WLTP range of up to 522km, a preliminary figure pending final Australian and New Zealand homologation.
Subaru quotes DC fast charging from 10 to 80% in about 30 minutes, 0-100km/h in about five seconds and 211mm of ground clearance. There is also a 1,500W vehicle-to-load outlet.
“Subaru Uncharted represents an exciting addition to Subaru’s growing global electrified line-up and demonstrates the brand’s ongoing commitment to delivering vehicles that combine capability, safety and everyday usability,” says Paul Mallard, general manager of distributor Inchcape New Zealand.
The Uncharted will be on display at the NZ EV & Tech Expo at Auckland Showgrounds from 13 to 15 November. Subaru is taking registrations of interest on its website.
