Technology focus at Automobile Barcelona

International motor show Automobile Barcelona’s Connected Streets area will provide insights into the latest technological developments within the motoring sector, organisers say.
It will focus on cars’ connectivity and autonomous systems, along with sustainable, intelligent and efficient mobility. The show starts on May 11 and runs until May 21.
Major brands including SEAT, Honda, Hyundai, KIA, Mercedes Benz, and Toyota will take part in the Connected Streets area.
The four themes are autonomous driving, e-mobility, connected car and virtual reality.
Test drives of cars featuring the latest technology and exhibitions and audiovisual shows from brands investing in autonomous driving systems will all be on offer.
Enrique Lacalle, chairman of the show says Automobile Barcelona is responding to the digital transformation of the automobile sector by showcasing 90 companies and 25 start-ups.
For the third time Spanish president, Mariano Rajoy will chair the inauguration of Automobile Barcelona on May 12.
