Holden Australia launches personal mobility service Maven

Holden has confirmed it is joining the race toward personal mobility with car-sharing platform Maven.

Launched in Australia today, General Motors’ mobility brand Maven Gig is a vehicle sharing economy allowing drivers to access new Holdens for an “all-inclusive and transparent weekly rate” of $215 per week.

Drivers in Melbourne and Sydney are able to use the service across ride-sharing platforms like UberX and UberEats to generate revenue, with running costs and insurance taken care of.

Holden has been testing the pilot program with staff internally, called Maven Campus, through its Port Melbourne base and Dandenong HSV facility, since 2016. The pilot achieved 4400 bookings from 500 members.

“Maven Gig provides drivers access to vehicles for an all-inclusive rental rate,” says Maven Australia general manager Matthew Rattay-Wood.

“We offer drivers the peace of mind of unlimited kilometres, service and maintenance, insurance and roadsite assist with the latest technology in some of Holden’s top-range vehicles,” he adds.

Astra, Trax and Captiva are currently the vehicles in use in the program.

Thus far, Maven has over 350 members with more than 250 cars in operation which have covered over two million kilometres.
