Jaguar latest manufacturer to go electric

Jaguar Land Rover has announced all of its vehicles will be electrified by 2020.

It will offer customers a mix of mild hybrid, plug-in hybrid and pure electric vehicles.

“Every new Jaguar Land Rover model line will be electrified from 2020, giving our customers even more choice. We will introduce a portfolio of electrified products across our model range,” Dr Ralf Speth, Jaguar Land Rover chief executive says.

“Our first fully electric performance SUV, the Jaguar I-Pace, goes on sale next year.”

It also has plan for autonomous vehicles under the Jaguar Future Type programme, from 2040.
“The fully autonomous virtual concept explores mobility for the connected world of tomorrow, where vehicles could be shared not owned,” the company says.
