Charge up at The Warehouse

The Warehouse is expanding its electric vehicle charging stations.

Invercargill will be the first The Warehouse South Island store to get an EV charging station.

By July it will have added Dunedin, Blenheim, Motueka, Oamaru, Timaru, Christchurch (Riccarton), Hamilton, Matamata, Taupo, Gisborne, Levin, New Plymouth, Masterton, Te Kuiti, Hawera, Porirua, and Palmerston North.

Chargers are already running in Auckland (Royal Oak), Rolleston, Gore, and Invercargill.

A third-party managed charging station is also outside The Warehouse Albany.

All chargers are 22kW three-phase with Type 2 plugs. Charging is free for the next few months with no tags or logins needed – just bring your own cable, The Warehouse environment general manager Greg Nelson says.

After that a nominal charge of less than $1 will apply, The project is part-funded by the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA) low emission vehicles contestable fund.
The chargers have parking for two vehicles.
