Denza’s Z9GT shooting brake has arrived in New Zealand ahead of its local launch.
Denza has not announced a launch date, but we understand the first customer cars should arrive early in 2027. Pricing has not been confirmed either, though Denza appears to be aiming below rivals such as the Porsche Taycan 4 Cross Turismo at $263,000 and the Polestar 5 at $239,900.

When it does go on sale, the Z9GT will be one of the most powerful cars in New Zealand. Its three electric motors and all-wheel-drive system produce 850kW and 1210Nm, enough for 0-100km/h in a claimed 2.7 seconds.
It uses a 122kWh BYD Blade Battery 2.0 on BYD’s Super e-Platform, with a claimed range of up to 820km on the Chinese CLTC test cycle. Expect a real-world figure closer to 650km.
BYD claims its flash charging can take the battery from 10% to 97% in about nine minutes, but that needs megawatt-class chargers New Zealand does not yet have. The fastest public sites here run 400kW equipment, against the 1000kW chargers BYD is building in China, and BYD has indicated it plans to bring its flash charging network here in time.

Inside, the Z9GT has a 50-inch augmented reality head-up display, Nappa leather, Devialet audio and ambient lighting with 128 colours. There are ventilated and massaging seats with extended leg rests, and a built-in fridge.

The Z9GT was spotted in Auckland in September.
