Kona Electric due for sale mid-2018
A first teaser image of Hyundai’s first fully-electric SUV has been released ahead of its official unveiling on February 27.
The Kona Electric is due on the market in the middle of this year.
It will feature two different powertrain versions with a range of almost 470km.
Drivers have a wide range of convenience and connectivity features as well as active safety and driving assistance technologies.
Hyundai Motor says it’s the first carmaker in Europe to merge eco-mobility and an SUV.
It also marketed the first mass-produced fuel cell vehicle, the ix35 FCEV, and recently introduced its successor, the Nexo. The Ioniq is the only car available with three different electrified powertrains in one body type.
The Kona is being considered for the Australian market.
Further details will be disclosed on February 27, ahead of the car’s world premiere at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, March 8-18.
