Electrics show stealers at Indian Auto Expo 2018

Car makers revealed plenty of electric vehicles at the Auto Expo 2018 show in India from February 9-14.

The government there wants an all-electric fleet by 2030, so it was no surprise the show’s main theme was EVs.

Among them were the Honda Sports EV, Renault Zoe and Trezor, Maruti Suzuki e-Survivor, the Tata Racemo Electric, BMW i3s, Hyundai Ioniqs and the Uniti electric car concept.

Mahindra unveiled its plans to shape the ‘Future of Mobility’ at the event, exhibiting its Udo two-seater electric pod concept and Atom urban mobility vehicles.

The tadpole-like Udo even has a fitness system for the user.

The Atom is designed for India’s planned smart cities and has a connectivity system allowing seamless bookings and payments, public transport timetables and much more.

Bollywood actor Sonakshi Sinha was among celebrities at the show, helping Indian auto design house DC.

She told NDTV that electric mobility is really important for India, especially in reducing pollution.
