Honda Urban EV orders taken from early 2019
Honda has confirmed at the Geneva International Motor Show that orders for a production version of its Urban EV Concept will open early next year.
“A production version of this highly acclaimed concept will be introduced to Europe during late 2019, and in response to the positive feedback to this model, we expect to open order books for the Urban EV during early 2019,” Honda Motor Europe president Philip Ross says.
The concept previews Honda’s first mass-produced battery electric vehicle sold in Europe.
The Urban EV can seat four comfortably on two bench seats and has two wide rear-hinged doors.
The dashboard features a wrap-around screen that extends into the doors, the display providing a range of vehicle information. The extended door screens serve as the car’s side mirrors through digital camera displays.
Details are not yet available on its battery pack, propulsion, range and pricing.
Honda says the Urban EV will have a digital voice-activated assistant called “Honda Automated Network Assistant” that “learns from the driver by detecting emotions behind their judgments”.
The Urban EV Concept is at Honda’s booth during the show from March 8-18.
