EV panel a highlight of FSF event

Mover and shakers from New Zealand’s automotive industry are set to play a big part in the Financial Services Federation’s (FSF) Driving Excellence Conference in Auckland this October.

General counsel for Custom Fleet Australia and NZ, Michelle Herlihy, will lead a panel discussing technological innovation in the automotive sector, with a focus on what it means for motor vehicle F&I and fleet leasing.

The other three panellists are Audi NZ general manager and Drive Electric board member Dean Sheed, Oscar Ellison, founder and chief executive of peer-to-peer car sharing service YourDrive and lawyer Michael Cameron.

Lyn McMorran, executive director of the FSF, says she is delighted to have secured such a high calibre of panellists, who will be chaired by Herlihy – also a Drive Electric board member.
“The focus topics will be electric vehicles, vehicle-sharing models, and driverless vehicles, and between the three fantastic panellists the level of knowledge and insight on that stage will be palpable,” McMorran says.

“We’re excited to be able to hear their honest and unique perspectives on the confronting future of the motor vehicle industry, how this might affect other sectors like financial services, and where it will leave those who don’t adapt.”

Other speakers set to attend the conference include Commerce and Consumer Affairs Minister Kris Faafoi, business and political journalist Bernard Hickey, and Australian Finance Industry Association executive director Helen Gordon.

The Financial Services Federation (FSF), which represents responsible finance and leasing firms including the likes of BMW Financial Services, Honda Finance NZ, Go Car Finance, Fleet Partners, and Orix.
